Connecting to MSPbots via API or SQL Agent

Connecting ConnectWise Automate, ConnectWise Manage, and Kaseya VSA to MSPbots is done via API or SQL Agent. You can connect your software using both ways

You can connect the software via API AND SQL agent, here are the pros and cons for the API dataset vs SQL dataset, sometimes, you might want to connect to both, but here are things that you should be aware:

1. For ConnectWise Manage, ConnectWise Automate, Kaseya PSA, you can use API dataset even for on-premise servers.
2. API integration dataset is more efficient, many of them are using incremental sync, also Webhook API, make it much more efficient. Most data calculation is happening on MSPbots server, much less stress to your own on-site server.
3. MSPbots released way more API datasets, Widgets templates than SQL datasets and Widgets.
4. API integration and On-premise SQL integration are two totally different datasets structure, even they are pulling data from same server, their widgets, dashboards can NOT be exchanged or migrated easily. They almost working as two totally different integration.
5. On-premise Integration should only be used in following situations:
   1. You are migrating from other software and want to keep every thing same to make the migration smoothly.
   2. You are an export SQL user that want to develop more SQL based datasets. MSPbots concierge server will NOT develop more SQL dataset or widget for you since it is not efficient and not universal to all users.
6. If you set up both API integration and SQL integration for same server, it will add extra workload to your server, please watch the server performance.
