Why are "late time entries" are a problem for MSPs?

Late time entry happens when an employee finishes a job but doesn't add the time entry right before he finishes the task.

Here are a couple of problems that could happen when employees add their time entries too late:

  1. When employee waits too long to log his time entry, he forgets about its details, affecting the accuracy of the time entry such as: what happened, when it happened, and how long it took to complete. Since some of the very important KPIs like utilization and agreement profitability heavily rely on an accurate time entry, the accuracy of those KPIs will be affected too.
  2. If the clients or other employees need to figure out what happened to certain tickets, and the employee who did the job didn't put time entry at the correct time, it will be difficult for the clients and other employees to understand the history of what happened and what needs to be done next.
